Materials and Methods

Client А. 40 year-old. Three months ago, found out that hair on the top of head is lost. The scalp was smooth when touched and was no pain. Used hair growth shampoo and nourishing oil at home without any treatment.

By Checkup

At the top of the head was a round oval spotted rash measured as 4.5 * 4.5 cm with a clear border and smooth surface. Diagnosis of alopecia areata is determined by a hair pull test. Tested as holding 50-60 strands of hair with thumb and index fingers and pulling, tightly on the ends of the hair. Hair loss was considered positive because more than 5 hairs were easily loosened in the test. Trichoscopic examination revealed signs of black and yellow spots, respectively. (Figure 1.) [2]
